Excuse me as I empty my mind of all the "stuff" that's presently clogging it.. you tell me if it makes sense.. I write to express myself.. what comes to mind is out of my mind and on the screen.. I never said it needed to make sense.

I've been chastised...
Well, this is embarrassing... I really should clear out the cobwebs from the corners of this blog. It's been an eventful five or six years since I last wrote in here. Our 16 year old dog, Tinka and our 15 year old cat, Molly have both crossed the rainbow bridge (as they like to say, whoever they are). Since we no longer have pets, and since hubby is now 85 and I'm 75 we decided it's time to sell the house and make other arrangement where things would be easier on both of us.
First we thought we would have a mini home built for us where we could own the lot it would be put on and we would be closer to my daughter. As we thought about it, we thought that the logistics would bring unwanted stress on us because we wouldn't know exactly when the house would be finished and couldn't be sure this house would sell at the right time so we would have to take out a mortgage (we don't have a mortgage now)..
Then we thought that we could sell this house and buy an already built bungalow (a half a duplex) but then we would have the same problems with maintenance, etc.
Then the next thought is that we would rent an apartment and move into it and then sell our house.. that led us to visiting my sister who lives in a senior's apartment that had a lot of social events like card games, bingo and various get-together type things. The apartment building is being built and we can move in next spring and they have a real estate agent on staff who can sell our house for us once we move into the apartment. They have a hair dresser that comes in at least once a week and they do foot checks periodically for diabetics like me. Hubby would really benefit from having men his age to socialise with because he has no family in this province or friends, really. It was the answer we had been looking for because it removed the stress from everything and we could take our time with moving out of here and moving into the apartment because we had enough money to rent for months if the house didn't sell right away. Also, we would be in Charlottetown which would be good in winter especially not having to drive in the bad weather to get groceries, etc. Also we would have underground parking so our electric car would be out of the weather and hubby wouldn't have to worry about clearing the snow or cutting the grass in the summer.
I keep thinking about lasts, last Halloween in this house, last Christmas, last winter, last spring, last having to worry about if something happens that we need an ambulance, being our here, especially in the winter.. at our ages that's something we would have to worry about.
So that's where we are in this wonderful, sometimes bitter-sweet time in our lives.
For now, back to sweeping away the cobwebs and tidying this old place up.
